The best games for two-minute breaks
Some of my favorite mobile games are the ones I never sit down to play. I play them in the gaps — waiting for a kettle, standing in a queue, five minutes before a meeting. The trick is finding games designed for that.
The key feature is instant resume. You should be able to open the app and be playing within seconds, and quit without a penalty. Games that force you through cutscenes or lock you into long matches don't fit this mold.
Puzzlers with per-level structure are perfect. So are light sims where a single action still feels meaningful. I've had good luck with fishing and idle-style games for this exact reason.
Battery is a bonus here. Short-session games are usually light on your phone anyway, so you can dip in all day without worrying. If your gaming happens in small bursts, lean into genres built for it.
