Big Bass Studio
Big Bass Studio surprised me. I expected a throwaway fishing tap-game and instead got something with a slow, satisfying loop. You cast, wait, feel the tug, and time your reel-in with a simple swipe. The controls are all one-handed, which made it perfect for playing while standing on a tram.
The 'studio' part is the fun twist — between fishing trips you decorate a workspace, upgrade rods and unlock new spots. It gives you a reason to keep going that isn't just a bigger number. The art is clean and readable, and the water animation is genuinely nice to look at.
Battery-wise it's very kind. Half an hour barely moved my charge and the phone stayed cool. There's an offline mode too, so it works fine on the subway. My one gripe is that late-game upgrades slow down a lot, but by then I'd already gotten my money's worth of relaxing sessions.
