About
PocketPlay started as a group chat where a few of us kept swapping screenshots and arguing about which games were worth the storage space. At some point we figured other people might want the same notes, so we turned it into a small site. No corporate backing, no algorithm feeding us titles — just people who like playing on their phones during commutes and lunch breaks.
We pick games ourselves. Sometimes it's a big release everyone is talking about, sometimes it's a tiny thing a reader mentioned in an email. What matters is that we install it, play for at least a few hours, and note how it feels: touch controls, how hot the phone gets, how fast the battery drops, whether the settings menu lets you turn off the stuff you don't want.
Every review here reflects a real session on a real device. We test on a mid-range Android and an older iPhone, because not everyone carries the latest flagship. If a game only runs smoothly on top-tier hardware, we say so.
We're a tiny team and we're fine with that. It keeps the reviews personal and honest, and it means when we say we liked something, it's because we actually did.
